Household appliance favourite Servis is being relaunched in the UK with the Approach team behind the headlines of this loved white goods brand.
Launching with a range of HydroDrive washing machines closely followed by stunning retro fridges, Approach is targeting the consumer, business and trade media while supporting with social media and awareness raising events.
Bringing a human element to the business story, Approach has enlisted the help of Servis fan Janet McHugh who has had the Servis brand in her family for over half a century.
Janet’s story will be showcasing in the national, regional and online media over the coming weeks. Category Manager Simon Hedges says:  “After 100 years of Servis in the UK an incredible brand loyalty has developed for the products and after Approach uncovered Janet’s determination to find another Servis machine to replace her 20-year-old model, we knew that the first home to host the arrival of our brand new range of washing machines, simply had to be Janet’s.”

Hotpoint 1851 Liberator De Luxe Washing Machine 1975

Who remembers the famous Hotpoint Purple Liberator range made in the UK in 1975. Here is the model 1851 Liberator  De Luxe and matching dryer.This set has been restored by a friend of mine, Lee James and would you believe is 40yrs old this year!! Does Your Automatic Washer say "Liberator De Luxe" ? Although referred to as The Purple Range , the colour name is "Amethyst". The push buttons where graduated in shades of Amethyst to White. Hotpoint 1842 Automatic Washing Machine (1981)

Here is the 1981 version of Hotpoint UK`s washing machine, now re-styled in the 70 / 80`s brown tone to compliment your Hygena kitchen units, this was made for Currys Electrical Stores as an exclusive model.  It took a 9lb washload and had an 800rpm spin speed the lower spin for delicates was 500rpm. Hot and Cold fill was the standard of the day and a cotton wash usually took no more than an hour to complete. The 3 compartment dispenser held pre-wash, main wash and fabric conditioner, the push button controls where for Economy - using your hot water and cutting out the heater. Gentle Action - reduces the drum speed for delicate fabrics. Slow Spin, reduces spin speed to 500rpm for delicate fabrics and Push Button door release. Here is the matching set. Did you have one ?
