Hotpoint 1851 Liberator De Luxe Washing Machine 1975

Who remembers the famous Hotpoint Purple Liberator range made in the UK in 1975. Here is the model 1851 Liberator  De Luxe and matching dryer.This set has been restored by a friend of mine, Lee James and would you believe is 40yrs old this year!!


Does Your Automatic Washer say "Liberator De Luxe" ?




Although referred to as The Purple Range , the colour name is "Amethyst".






The push buttons where graduated in shades of Amethyst to White.

Do you remember when your Gran used a washing machine like this? The rythmical sound of the agitator back & forth, back & forth. The steam rising into the kitchen, the smells and aroma of washing powders such as Ariel, Persil, Tide and Surf.
