A homage to Dame Penelope Keith or as we remember her Margo Leadbetter from the TV series The Good Life . It follows Tom & Barbara Good who abandon conventional life to live self sufficiently in suburban Surbiton , Surrey , UK. They live next door to Margo & Jerry Leadbetter a snobbish banker set couple. Margo has a domestic cleaner help called Mrs Pearson who in one episode goes on holiday leaving Margo to use her own Electrolux Z90 vacuum Cleaner made up the road in Luton, England , UK While Margo uses the Electrolux Cleaner it starts to omit a high pitched whistle. Margo assumes its broken and sticks it in a shopping trolley wheeling it around to Tom & Barbara`s to see if they can FIX it. Tom attempts to take it apart while Barbara has a wrye smile on here face as she knows what the problem is . This New Fangled Electrolux Z90 has a DeLuxe feature - It Whistles When The Bag Is Full much to Margo`s distain when everyone laughs at her for not knowing !!

Here is Steves Hotpoint 1504 Toploader from 1969 wheeled to the sink and used on the Hotpoint Tap Adaptors so you could still use your sink tapes to fill the kettle while using the washing machine.

Take a look at this fab laundry room completed a few years ago for friends running a catering business, It comprises the latest Bosch Next European front loading large size washer & dryer . The sink is a re-claimed morticians sink which doubles as a laundry soak / rinse sink and also a dog washing facility. To the right is an integrated Servis Supertwin Twin Tub washing machine, this was housed in a cabinet & worktop , thront cabinet fascia hooks off to get to the washer when required , the sink mixer tap was housed in between both and can swivel so it can fill the twin -tub with hot water and a hose is attached for rinsing. On the other side is a long run worktop with a ironer press and steam generator with ample space for sorting & folding laundry. Let us know what you think ?

 Using the Electra 11500 Electronic De Luxe Washing Machine, made by Creda in Blythe Bridge , Staffs, UK. Selecting prog 2 which is a 60d Cottons Hot Wash, vigorous wash action , low waterlevel. It does 4 rinses with interim spins and a final long spin at 1100 rpm.  The Electra 11500 is a Hot & Cold fill, 3 compartment dispenser for pre-wash , main wash , additives such as starch & fabric conditioner . 3 water levels and a fast spin of 1100 rpm. 

  Trident Cylinder Cleaner. This  was  made by Electrolux for the Door to Door salesman market .  Did  you ha ve one of these ? 

  Hoover A3006 Automatic Washing Machine 1975  Who had one of these Hoover washers ?  This was the first Hoover 800rpm spin machine after the Matchbox series which spun at 740 rpm. Hot & Cold fill , 9lb washload, the programmmes are list by numbers instead of the later alphabetical style.

We visited our good friend Darren who has converted a garage into a new appliance display space, he specialises in renovation all his appliances especially the Bendix washing machines, many are the 1950`s bolt down variety. Take a look and see which you remember !!  We love the newly renovated Bendix semi automatic washing machines and also the  Parnall Spinwashers, these had a facility called a Sudzsaver which pumped the wash water into an outer tub so that you could re-use it for another washload, very eco friendly !!  Let us know what you think !!  Take A Look At More Pics !!
