Electra 11500 De-Luxe Washer by Creda (1982)

Many of our Great British washing machines where made for our "Electricity Boards" such as my local which was Manweb (Merseyside & North Wales Electricity Board), this particular model was made by Creda in Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire. I love the orange accents and easy to use controls,  It took a 10lb wash load, hot & cold fill, easy to select programmes. 3 compartment dispenser and the spin speed was 1000rpm. Three simple push button options gave you an economy wash which used your hot water cutting out the heater, a rinse hold which left clothes suspended in the last rinse water ready for you to spin and remove and a half load button for smaller washloads. The 9 simple to identify wash programmes where easy to select and conformed to the HLCC  (Home Laundry Care Council) wash codes of the day The 3 compartment dispenser held pre-wash, main wash powder and  liquid fabric conditioner, all dispensed at the correct programme...

The first Servis washing machine was made in Darlaston, West Midlands in 1929. A History of Ireland in 100 Objects
